Established in 2011, the Military Support Foundation is behind many worthwhile projects. Two of them appealed to us so much that we decided to support them. After the benches in honour of General M. R. Štefánik, we are proud to present Military Art – a project that brings the stories of Slovak soldiers, war veterans and employees of the Ministry of Defence closer to the public through art. It highlights the human side of military service and the sacrifices these people make for our country.

Twelve powerful stories, twelve extraordinary pieces

Each issue of Military Art begins with a careful selection of twelve stories of historical and emotional significance. A panel of experts selects the stories, which then inspire talented artists from a variety of artistic disciplines to create unique works. The project culminates in a celebratory exhibition to mark War Veterans Day. During the exhibition, the works will be displayed to the public and then auctioned off at the Armed Forces Charity Dinner, which this year takes place on 14 February 2025.

All the works will also be reproduced in the auction catalogue, which will include profiles of the artists and the military personnel whose stories inspired them. The benefit of the project will once again take on a humanitarian dimension – proceeds from the auction will go to help children from the military community – half-orphans and orphans – who are in need of our support.
